New Orlando Attraction in 2012: Despicable Me at Universal Studios

Universal Resorts in Orlando, Florida, a Universal Studios sister company, is good in bringing movie adaptations from scenes to reality. After the success of recreating the famous attraction The Wizarding World of Harry Potter from the bestselling books and blockbuster films, Universal Resorts is now in the process of building up the new Orlando attraction in 2012 tentatively tagged as the “Despicable Me” from the 2010 animated film under Illumination Entertainment.

This new Orlando attraction in 2012 will replace the recently closed Jimmy Neutron’s Nicktoon Blast and Hanna-Barbera’s “The Funtastic World of Hanna-Barbera” placed from June 1990 to October 2002. In association of film producer Chris Meledandri of Despicable Me and Illumination Entertainment, it was announced that the recreation of this animated film being designed by Universal Creative Company is on-going. The Wizarding World Of Harry Potter In Universal Studios Orlando FL

For a day full of spells, dragons and magic, come along to this amazing attraction and even be greeted by The Hogwarts Express as you arrive! The Wizarding World of Harry Potter is located inside Universal Studios Islands of Adventure Park and encompasses a 20 acre replica of Hogsmeade village and even the Hogwarts castle. Let your imagination run wild for those fans out there and live the Harry Potter dream! Park gates open at 8am so be sure to be there early for an action packed day. A few months back we announced the Harry Potter opening of this themed area of Islands of Adventure and we are excited to report back on how it progresses.

There are three main attractions inside Harry Potter’s Wizarding World and the first is ‘Flight of the Hippogriff’ – a family friendly rollercoaster where you get to learn from Hagrid how to fly a Hippogriff. What an experience! The second is the ‘Dragon Challenge’ and is a double rollercoaster involving duelling dragons (and who doesn’t love dragons?!) The third is the ‘Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey’ ride whereby projected actors interact with guests, you get to tour around the moving portrait gallery, and the office of the Headmaster Albus Dumbledore, and escape all kinds of perilous Dementors. The Harry Potter Attraction At Universal Studios Orlando

It is finally there, the long awaited Wizarding World Of Harry Potter attraction in Universal Studios Orlando is opening on June 18, 2010. If standing in line from 2am that day is your thing, we want to bet you are not getting in that day to see and experience it. There is a backdoor to the castle however: Universal Studios is selling special vacation packages from May 28 onwards that will allow access for these guests for a preview of the Harry Potter attraction before the official opening date of June 18. Chances are that the entire Harry Potter World will be shown from all angles and depths on the internet even before its opening. The attraction was created in collaboration with the writer J.K. Rowling and the producers/designers of the Harry Potter movies.

Death Of A Trainer In SeaWorld Orlando Shamu Show

Orlando, February 24, 2010. A trainer with 15 years of experience training and handling the Orca Killer Whales at the SeaWorld Orlando attraction was grabbed by Tilikum, Shamu. Dawn Brancheau, a 40 year old senior trainer, was seen petting and rubbing the animal just after an afternoon show when the whale came out of the tank and grabbed Brancheau, pulling her in and under water.

According to visitors who watched the show previously, it was clearly noticed the animal was behaving nervously during the performance and had rejected all commands from the trainers. [Read more...]

Roller Coaster Universal Studios Opens: The Rip Ride Rockit Roller Coaster

rip_ride_rockit_roller-coaster This is a news update: the Rip Ride Rockit Roller Coaster just opened today, August 19 after a mystery awaiting period with no comments and no projection dates set by Universal Studios in Orlando. Well, with no announcement or any visible signs the Studios cut the ribbon and off it went. For a few months now locals saw bill boards alongside the roads advertising the ride Rip Ride Rockit Opening soon. August 19, a Wednesday in 2009 was apparently the date! What is The Rip Ride Rockit Attraction?

Universal Studios Orlando The Rip Ride Rockit Roller Coaster is the world’s largest non-inverted loop and a negative-gravity move that makes riders feel like they’ll be thrown from the car. A very complicated attraction indeed but well worth while the wait the first dare devils acknowledged. The cars fly just a mere 30 feet above the awaiting line of crowd, making the line an attraction in itself.

Other than the hoops and the loops (no oops please), one can choose from 5 different styles of music to play one of the 30 programmed songs to play for each riders’ personal preference and pleasure. It is likely the Rock-n-Roller Coaster in Disney Hollywood Studios gave the people from Universal Studios and Islands Of Adventure an idea for this newest ride. Even the name is not the greatest in originality compared to the Disney ride, the attraction on itself though appears to be a few notches higher as it is newer and more innovative.
