The Assemblies Of God Historical Time Line

Early 1900′s a few Bible school students started a movement based on their pentecostal experiences and these personal and religious experiences were associated with the Jewish holiday of Pentecost. The name Pentecostals developed quickly in Topeka Kansas and Los Angeles and the Pentecostals count a mere 650 million people today, of which the Assemblies of God is only part of them. Believes are amongst other: baptism in the Holy Spirit, the Bible is God’s inspired Word to man; that salvation is available only through Jesus Christ; that divine healing is made possible through Jesus’ suffering and death on the cross; and that Jesus will return to earth for those who love Him. The New Testament stands as a model for the church, which grew in the last decade by approx. 18.5%.
